缤纷校园 School Activities - 【 I Love China: Poems of China】我爱中国——诗歌吟诵会
”Moonlight before my bed, Could it be frost instead? Head up, I watch the moon; Head down, I think of home.” Quiet Night Thoughts is a well known classical Chinese poem from Tang Dynasty. The scenery and the homesick theme it describes in the poem are often quoted by people especially during the Mid-autumn Festival to express their eagerness for family unity. In Chinese history there were countless famous poems that are still remembered today. In the August and September birthday parties, our children celebrated their festive days by performing these beautifully written poems.
The birthday party started as PreK and K2C put on a performance of a Chinese poem Goose, Goose, Goose.
One after another each class performed their favorite poem and tried their very best. We also encouraged some English poems to add a different splash of color for multicultural understanding and helping our children become internationally minded.
At last all students sang aloud the “happy birthday” song and cheerfully received delicious cake from the principal as well as heart felt blessings.
Special thanks to the K2 birthday party preparation group for your hard work and K2B voluntary parents for the photography.
Wish every birthday child a happy birthday and all Victoria children a happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Let’s also not forget – Happy Birthday to our motherland -China!
